F1 Info - 2002

Two-thirds of the way through the season and we see our first driver change of 2002. Alex Yoong, having failed to qualify three times this season (at Imola, Silverstone and Hockenheim) is being "rested" for at least the next two races while he undergoes intensive training to try to improve his qualifying performance. His place is being taken in Hungary and Belgium by young Brit, Anthony Davidson, test driver at BAR for the last two season and therefore no stranger to an F1 car.

At time of writing (Saturday of the Hungarian GP weekend), the future of the Arrows team is uncertain. They are in protracted negotiations to save the team and have not travelled to Hungary. Heinz-Harald Frentzen has already been released from his contract and so, if they do return to the grid this year, a further driver change will be forthcoming.
