Ralph Firman remains sidelined by an inner ear imbalance following his heavy accident in Hungary and Zsolt Baumgartner again fills the second Jordan seat.

Ralf Schumacher's time was disallowed because he cut the first chicane.

No time for Jos Verstappen after his car failed to leave the pitlane due to an electronics problem.
