Notes:
I missed this race, managing not to hear the results, returned from my holiday to find that I hadn't in fact missed much ... certainly not in terms of racing! I was not particularly sorry to have missed the Great Michelin Tyre Fiasco! I won't go into details here, there's more than enough words written on the subject elsewhere, suffice to say that the seven Michelin-shod teams formed up on the grid, completed the parade lap then pealed into the pits and did not take the start.
The "non-starters" are listed here in the order in which they qualified for the race.
Zonta was standing in for the side-lined Ralf Schumacher, whose heavy accident in Friday practice, caused by a Michelin tyre failure, was the trigger for this disastrous weekend for Formula 1.
