Notes:
* Webber's pitstops include drive-thru penalty for speeding in the pit lane.

Firman and Verstappen started from the pitlane. Wilson pitted at the end of the parade lap to join them there for the start.

Pizzonia failed to get away at the start but the team subsequently got the car started and he eventually finished the race.

Montoya, on a 3 stop strategy, suffered from a fuel rig problem on his 2nd scheduled stop and had to go through again to pick up fuel - but for this, he would most likely have finished in 6th.

Barrichello had a problem with the left front wheel on his 3rd and final pitstop which probably cost him 2nd place.

The Schumacher brothers were racing in the most difficult of personal circumstances following the death of their mother in the early hours of Sunday morning. It did not visibly affect their performance, but Michael was understandably subdued on the podium and his colleagues showed their respect by refraining from the usual champagne fest. My thoughts are with the whole Schumacher family at this time.
