Notes:
Glock takes no part in this weekend's race, after cracking a vertebra in his crash in Japan. His Toyota seat is filled by the team's third driver, Kamui Kobayashi.
Fisichella spins out and stalls in the first part of a very wet qualifying session. Session red-flagged until conditions improve.
With the rain falling hard again towards the end of the session, both McLarens fail to make it through Q1 and, more significantly for the title battle, nor does Vettel.
And after a long delay (during which conditions seem to be have remained pretty constant, so not sure why they're deemed alright now) Q2 starts.
And is promptly red-flagged just 2.5 mins in as Liuzzi loses it at the end of the pit straight, connecting heavily with the barriers and shedding all his wheels! Climbs out of the car unaided, thankfully.
After a very, very, very long delay (during which I switched over to Strictly Come Dancing so am only watching the live timing now!), Q2 continued.
Button got caught out on full wets as others switched to inters on a drying track - he qualifies 14th. Barrichello scrapes through to Q3 in 10th.
And the best possible finish for Barrichello - pole position in his home grand prix, keeping his championship hopes on track (if you'll pardon the pun!)
