Grid penalties:
Race penalties:
Renault suspended from the next race (European GP at Valencia) as punishment for sending Alonso out after his pitstop with an incorrectly fitted wheel. It parted company with his car not long afterwards and he returned to the pits on three wheels for a replacement, subsequently retiring with fuel pump problems.
Race notes:
Massa took no part in the race following his qualifying accident, so only 19 cars lined up for the 2009 Hungarian GP.
Jaime Alguersuari, having replaced Sebastien Bourdais in the Toro Rosso, started his first race from 19th on the grid (would have been 20th had Massa started) and finished in 15th, one place ahead of team-mate Buemi.
